The Vancouver Island Arabian Horse Association announces that after thirty plus years of organizing the Light Horse Show on behalf of the Saanich Fair, notice was received from the North and South Saanich Agriculture Society Board of Directors that effective March 13, 2024 the club will no longer be involved with the show.
We are surprised and disappointed by this notice.
Due to the absence of prior discussion with the club or request for a transition plan, we are unable to provide details on planning for the 2024 Fall Fair.
We were honoured to organize this show opportunity for several generations of the local horse community. A sincere thank you to everyone in the horse community, volunteers and sponsors who have supported the Light Horse Show in the past.

About VIAHA
VIAHA provides a focus for Arabian enthusiasts on the Island. We present the Island Classics, an all-Arabian horse show which is a qualifier for the Region 17 Championship Horse Show. All breeds are welcome at the various Open Shows hosted by VIAHA on the south Island, including the Saanich Fair Horse Show.
Club members can accumulate points towards the year-end Hi-Point Awards in a variety of divisions.
You do not have to own an Arabian to join in the fun!
